We displayed posters at both the Mitchell Public Library and the Carnegie Resource Center during Constitution Week, and a program was held on the Declaration of Independence and the U.S Constitution.  An outstanding program was a "Folding Ceremony of the Flag of the United States of America."

Our Firesteel members have given numerous volunteer hours to our local historical and genealogical society, and we also have given to the Mitchell Area Safehouse and the Mitchell Police/Firefighters.

In October 2017, we held an "Open House" for potential new members.

In March 2018, we held a memorial service for our departed member Myrna Hayen (1927-1961) at Graceland Cemetery and presented her husband with a white rose.  We made white rose/flag memorials for our departed sisters of the Nancy Peabody Chapter NSDAR, held a memorial service, and placed a rose/flag memorial at each gravesite.
